Franklin Inn Featured on the Gourmet Eater Last Night
The Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant was featured last night on the Gourmet Eater hosted by Gregg Mathis. You can listen to our interview at the link below. Choose Episode 7. I was a little nervous and I think I missed a few of his questions, because I couldn't hear him all that well at times, but overall, I think it went well and it was a lot of fun. What do you think?

Franklin Inn Guacamole Recipe
Franklin Inn Guacamole
Below is the Franklin Inn's recipe for Guacamole that you've been requesting. Here's some neat info: According to GourmetSleuth.com guacamole dates back to the Aztecs. They made a mixture of it similar to today's guacamole. Avocado has the highest fat content of any fruit. So, for the Aztecs who had a very low fat diet compared to ours, this fruit contained life sustaining fats and protein. This made it highly regarded. I found this out also when I was researching to make homemade baby food for my three children. I made all three of my babies what I called "baby guacamole." It was so healthy and a great first food for them. If you want to know how I made it drop me an email at wendy@franklininn.net. The Aztecs also believed the avocado be an aphrodisiac. Hmmm....
Here's the recipe for the guacamole. Let me know if you try to make it yourself or how you've adapted it to suit your tastes. It's so popular at the Inn that John's been afraid to alter it. So, it will be fun to hear about your alternations.
